Understanding LGBTQ Identities: What do all these terms mean and why is this important to me and my family?
Are you confused about the new vocabulary they use around gender identity and sexual orientation? Do you ever feel like your child is speaking a different language than you? Do you wonder about the term b’mitzvah? Then join us for this program!
During this presentation, you will:
  • Learn correct and up to date LGBTQ language and terminology.
  • Learn specific skills to make Temple Emunah a more safe, inclusive, and welcoming space.
  • Understand the difference between gender identity, sex assigned at birth, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
  • Hear Jewish speakers share their personal stories.
This presentation is presented by Greater Boston PFLAG, which provides support for families with LGBTQ youth. Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session. This program is open to the Emunah community, including adults, parents, grandparents and friends.
