It is our pleasure to announce our LIJS Spring Course taught by our respective clergy on
The Binding of Isaac–A Deep Dive.

Wednesdays, March 4-March 25
8:00 pm
In-person at Temple Isaiah and Temple Emunah or Online

 

In this four-week course, the Emunah and Isaiah clergy will explore the overlapping themes of theology, liturgy, art, Torah, interpretation, and history as they help us both understand and reinterpret the iconic Binding of Isaac narrative. 

March 4-Rabbi Lerner is exploring The Akeidah in the form of an introduction and its role in the Liturgy.
March 11-Rabbi Battis will explore The Akeidah in Midrash: Filling in the Rest of the Story
March 18-Rabbi Thomashow will teach on “The Akeidah as it is depicted in the history of Art.”
March 25- Rabbi Eliana Willis will teach Akeidah in Poetry
