Join Hebrew College Rabbinic Intern Carrie Watkins after kiddush for a special learning session. We’ll study a letter written by a student of Rabbi Kalonymus Kalman Shapira, a Hassidic Rebbe of the Warsaw Ghetto, describing a spiritual meditation practice called the Quieting Practice. This letter is among the most precise descriptions of a Jewish mindfulness practice that we have, and the story of the letter’s discovery highlights an often-overlooked consequence of the Holocaust: the loss of Jewish spiritual wisdom. After learning it, we’ll spend a short time trying the practice out for ourselves. Click here to RSVP!
