“Tradition and Transformation: The Evolving Role of the Conservative Jewish Woman”

discussion led by Rose Myers

Tuesday, January 20 at 6 pm | Katz Meeting Room

Many of us grew up in an era before women could wear tallitot, read from the Torah, have aliyot, hear matriarchs mentioned in the Amidah, or be a rabbi. If you are from that generation — or a younger one where you can’t imagine this — please join us to discuss this topic and hopefully hear from women at Emunah who were active during this change. If that describes you, we would be greatly appreciative if you would join us – please let us know!

The Bess Ezekiel Rosh Hodesh Group is dedicated to the memory of Bess Ezekiel z”l, who was one of the founders of the original Rosh Hodesh group at Temple Emunah formed under the leadership of Rabbi Bernard Eisenman. Bess was a teacher by training and became a Bat Mitzvah as an adult. She was deeply committed to lifelong learning. The Bess Ezekiel Rosh Hodesh Group is funded by the Bess Ezekiel Memorial Fund and is open to all female identifying members of the Emunah community.
