Temple Emunah has a rich past ~30-year choral history of the Mak’haylah under the direction of Leon Gunther and accompaniment and support by Marc Sacks and Joelle Gunther, respectively.
The love of communal singing sparked our desire to continue the shul’s musical tradition by forming Kolot Emunah (Voices of Emunah [faith]), the chorus of Temple Emunah. Our goal is to offer a broad repertoire of Jewish music in a range of venues. Through choral engagement of singers and listeners, we hope to support community-building within Temple Emunah, and to elevate the prayer experience when participating in a service. Overall, we aspire to bring joy to our community and audiences. Member Seth Maislin is our Conductor. Rabbi Willis is graciously serving as the choir’s advisor and clergy touch point.
We welcome new singers of any age. There are no auditions and the ability to read or sight-read music is not required, though such abilities are helpful.
