Glatzer Memorial Weekend & Shabbat Shirah

When

January 30, 2026 - February 1, 2026
5:30 pm - 12:00 pm

This year marks the 48th year since the inception of the Glatzer Fund and the initiation of Glatzer Memorial Weekend at Temple Emunah, an annual event that honors the memories of Anne and Nahum Glatzer, distinguished and active members of Temple Emunah. In their spirit, we bring eminent Jewish scholars to teach us and study with us. We hope you will join us for a weekend of exploration, study, and learning together. Our Scholar-in-Residence this year is Rabbi Josh Warshawsky.

Shabbat Shirah (“Sabbath [of] song” שבת שירה) is the name given to the Shabbat that includes Parashat B’shallah. This Torah reading contains the Song of the Sea (Exodus 15:1–18), sung by the Children of Israel after crossing the Red Sea. On Shabbat Shirah, we celebrate a very special moment in the Torah, a very musical moment in Jewish biblical history. It is the Sabbath of Singing.
