The Selihot service officially opens the season of the Yamim Nora’im, The Days of Awe, introducing us to its tunes and melodies. Please join us for our annual joint program with Temple Isaiah as the clergy of both synagogues teach about Selihot and the themes of the High Holy Days.
This event will begin with a dinner and learning followed by Havdalah, singing, meditation, and changing of the Torah Mantles.
Reverse Tashlikh is an innovative environmental practice that reimagines the traditional Jewish ritual of Tashlikh — symbolically casting away sins by tossing breadcrumbs or seeds into the water. Instead of casting away sins, participants come together to remove harmful pollutants from the water, fostering a sense of responsibility and stewardship for the environment.
Click here to register. The Temple Emunah Sisterhood is sponsoring an ice cream party afterward for all participants!
This program is a part of 8th Annual Repair the Sea’s international Jewish waterfront clean up effort.
Please note: This does not replace our traditional Tashlikh service.
