TEY is Temple Emunah's (Community) Youth! At Temple Emunah, we realize that there are many different ways children, tweens and teens might choose to connect with their Judaism. We support our teens in their Jewish journeys and make sure they are aware of the variety of possibilities for engagement that exist in today's Jewish world.
At Temple Emunah, we have three USY groups: Kadima (grades 3 through 5), Jr. USY (grades 6 through 8) and Sr. USY (grades 9 through 12). We run minyanim for children in grades 2 through 12: Mini-Minyan (grades 1 through 3), Junior Cong (grades 4 through 6) and Teen Minyan (grades 7 through 12). Mini-Minyan and Junior Cong are usually followed by K.N.I.S.H. (Kadima-Noar Interactive Shabbat Hang-Out ). There are Shul-Ins for children in grades three and four, and children in grades five and six, and our Religious School Retreat. There are Rosh Hodesh groups for girls and Shevet Achim groups for boys, and our Madrichim Program for high schoolers interested in working in our Religious School. There is also our Next Dor Corps and for high school seniors, College Bound.
Along with the many programs run through Temple Emunah, many of our teens also connect to Jewish life through Gann Academy, AIPAC, and a multitude of other programs.
We also run a number of "stand alone" opportunities for teens in our community: Shabbat Dinners, Fall and Spring Youth Day.
One is part of TEY simply by being a child, tween or teen of Temple Emunah.
Please be on the lookout for our 2016-2017 / 5777 Calendar, which we will be posting on Temple Emunah’s website. In addition, we will be emailing information to our youth community (teens and parents), directly.
Temple Emunah's Youth Program is guided by an active Youth Committee, currently chaired by Natalie Gornstein, Elise Ezekiel and Laura Pierce.
