Summer Shabbat Speaker Series 2026 – Elizabeth Pressman

This Shabbat, we will hear from Elizabeth Pressman on the topic of “The only girl in Hebrew school, starting at an early age.”

“Joy of a Judaic life. My entrance and continuation of Jewish/Hebrew learning as the only girl at first. My synagogue and my Ramah camping experiences. Teaching Hebrew and later various volunteer leadership positions.

I started Hebrew School at 8, began Camp Ramah at 12, tutored some students, taught in New York and Greenbelt, MD, was president of youth groups, and worked for MA Health for 25 years. I was the first female Chair of Emunah’s Religious Committee, first female president of Emunah, president of Ramah New England, Regional USCJ President, and International USCJ VP. I have three children and nine grandchildren, plus one granddaughter-in-law.
