  our book of fixed prayers. This book was\, by and large\, created by men\
 , for men. Did you know that Jewish women in Eastern Europe wrote their ow
 n sets of prayers? These informal prayers fell out of memory for many of u
 s and are now being reclaimed. Often written in Yiddish\, these prayers ma
 rk moments in the cyclical Jewish calendar\, and mitzvot of particular s
 ignificance for Jewish women throughout time. Together\, we'll learn more 
 about the history of Tehines\, read some together\, and have a discussio
 n about what it means to be a Jewish woman in a largely egalitarian societ
