Pesah VIII Shaharit & Yizkor
Sanctuary
Four times a year, we take a moment to cherish the memories of our loved ones who have passed on. On the final day of Passover during the Shaharit service, we will say memorial prayers and hear from our two speakers: David Ezekiel and Mark Zelermyer. They will be speaking on loved ones they have lost and their experiences with grief.
David Ezekiel
David has been a Temple Emunah Member for over 60 years, having become a Bar Mitzvah in 1972. After college, David became the USY advisor and basketball coach for the high school-age students, several of whom he remains in touch with. David has chaired the Membership, Budget, and Finance Committees, and was president of the synagogue between 2002 and 2004. He is the organizer of a monthly Men’s Torah Study group and manages the Ladle Fund and the Bess Ezekiel z”l Memorial Fund, both established by his father, Fred Ezekiel z”l, the latter in honor of David’s mother, Bess Ezekiel z”l. David is married to Elise Richman Ezekiel, a long-time volunteer and leader in the community. Their children, Hilana, Micah, and Nili, all became B’nei Mitzvah at Temple Emunah before leaving for college and their own professional careers.

Mark Zelemyer
After a career in corporate communications, Mark has focused on his passion for music. He composes, records, and performs with his band throughout Greater Boston and beyond, and his next album will be released this summer. He also helped create and launch New Song, a monthly concert series at Bedford Town Hall, and continues to book the talent and emcee the shows, which have featured the likes of Patty Larkin and Ellis Paul. The series was a real favorite of Mike Rosenberg z’’l. Mark actively participates in weekly Emunat HaLev meditations, and a monthly social justice discussion group launched in the aftermath of George Floyd’s murder. He, Margo, Julie, and Melissa have been members of Temple Emunah for three-plus decades.
