KNISH Youth Program wins a Solomon Schechter Award

The Youth Committee is excited to announce that the Temple Emunah Youth department has won a United Synagogue Solomon Schechter Award for Synagogue Excellence. The KNISH youth program received a Silver Award in the Worship & Ritual group.

A Message from USY President Arielle Russell

Shanah Tovah!

Hi my name is Arielle Russell and I am the President of the Temple Emunah chapter of United Synagogue Youth, or USY.

Many of you may ask what is USY.

USY is not just an organization; it is a way of life. USY is a youth organization in which Conservative Jewish teens from all over the country can participate. USY changes and affects its members’ lives forever. From the way we practice Judaism to the friends that we make, from conventions, which all of us love and cherish, to the dances where friendships are made, the love that USYers have for USY is truly amazing and indescribable.

Temple Emunah’s Youth programs provide multiple opportunities for the synagogue’s youth to experience Conservative Judaism, to connect with other Jewish youth (both within and outside of Temple Emunah), and to participate in the larger synagogue community. Activities for meeting these goals are designed, implemented, and supervised by a creative and energetic full-time youth staff, consisting of the Youth Director and two Youth Educators; each of whom also teaches in the more formal setting of the Hebrew School.

Emunah Girls Brings Home the USY Volleyball Title...Again!

Playing before a full house at Gann Academy last Wednesday night, the Lexington USY volleyball team won its 5th NERUSY Championship in the last 6 years. Behind the inspirational senior leadership of tri- captains Amy Greenberg, Annie Jacob, and Kari Sheldon, Lexington narrowly defeated a strong Providence team 25-22 and 25-21.
